The 17th-century Turkish satire master Khodja Nasreddin was known so well in the Muslim world and the non-Muslim world that it is surprising for the middle ages. His fame covered China, India, Persia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Greece, Spain and Italy.​
